Apulon patronized the gold in the basement during the Dacians and the Romans. Its brilliant rays that have fallen from the early days on earth are considered from the mythological point of view the cause of the existence of the rich golden veins in the area. The extraction of these metamorphosed “rays” was done with the consent and protection of the Sun God. Without the religious services from Piatra Craivii, the Dacians could not take from underground any golden trickle. In order not to disturb the solar divinity that gave “shine” to these places, the Romans during the conquest did not even touch the Dacian temples. None of the Piatra Craivii temples have signs of arson or demolition, as are the sacred buildings in the mountains south of Or\u0103\u015ftie. The Dacians of the Piatra Craivii were lowered into the valley, and the services in the temples would cease, but Apulon’s imploration will continue in the Roman temples in the valley or in the Ro\u015fia Montan\u0103 area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contemporaneity of the Piatra Craivii and Coste\u0219ti temples is evidenced not only by their shape and orientation, but also by a Roman coin found in 2006 on the “terrace of the penny”. The coin found next to one of the plinths of the sanctuary dates from 42-41 BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sanctuaries of Piatra Craivii, as well as those from Coste\u015fti, functioned without any interruption and without any major architectural change, from the time of the great kingdom of Burebista-Deceneus until the years of the wars with the Romans carried by King Decebalus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both by name and in fact, Piatra Craivii is a royal Dacian fortress belonging to the kings of Sarmizegetusa<\/a> Regia, and Apulon area, Apulum and then Dacia Apulensis were under the direct influence of the brilliant Sun God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Coste\u0219ti village, an important area of the Transylvania hotels<\/a> complexes, you go by car to Craiva village, Alba Iulia County. The road up there is asphalted and lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We left the cars at the exit of the village, where the asphalt was over, and we walked on a dusty road, accessible only with a high-guard car. We keep the main road going to the left at each intersection, for 2 hours, till the foot of the Piatra Craivii. Here, a red-roofed solitary house enjoys the view of Alba Iulia, and we keep the road that takes it to its left and enters the forest. At the entrance, we enjoy the cold water of a spring, on the right side, and gather for a few minutes the forces for what will follow. We take it up to the ridge, following the blue dot sign and climbing the rocks like mountain goats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climbing is accessible only with boots, medium to high difficulty, not recommended for children and it takes about an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
